Our task list is long and our days seem to get shorter. As important as data is to drive business growth, it is also time consuming to collect, analyze, and make changes.
We can’t lengthen your days and we probably can’t shorten your list, but we can offer some advice on how to collect data to make the process much more efficient.
Start by identifying metrics. If you need help with this step, check out our meaningful metrics worksheet.
Next, identify which source provides this data point. This list might include Quickbooks, Box, Google Analytics, Salesforce, Excel, or others. Find one team member to own each data point. This person is responsible for collecting the data point on a regular basis, not necessarily ensuring its success.
As simple as this seems, the task of collecting data continuously moves down the list. The data then becomes outdated and unusable. By implementing an easy process, you can make sure the data you are using is up to date.
Organizations do have data in many places. At infoFluency, we connect to the data in all the places where it is stored, combine it, and prepare it for effective use. Reach out for more information.
